Cantonal holiday. Corpus Christi 2026 falls on Thursday, 4 June 2026. Canton-wide in Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Zug, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Ticino, Valais and Jura. In Fribourg it applies in the Catholic part outside Courgevaux, Fräschels, Greng, Kerzers, Meyriez, Muntelier, Murten, Ried bei Kerzers, Ulmiz, Mont-Vully, Flamatt and Sensebrügg. In Solothurn it is a public rest day except in Bucheggberg district; municipalities may designate additional local rest days. In Aargau it applies in Baden district except Bergdietikon, in Bremgarten, Laufenburg, Muri and Zurzach districts, and in Hellikon, Mumpf, Obermumpf, Schupfart, Stein and Wegenstetten.
Taking Friday, 5 June as leave creates a four-day break only in the verified scope; in Solothurn's Bucheggberg district, Corpus Christi is not a cantonal public rest day.
Only Swiss National Day on 1 August has federal constitutional holiday status. Corpus Christi is governed at cantonal, district or municipal level.
